چکیده
This document contains a summary of the Children, Young Persons, and Their Families Act passed by New Zealand in 1989. The Act repeals the Children and Young Persons Act of 1974 and has as its objective the promotion of the well-being of children, young persons, and their families and family groups. The membership of children in their families and family groups is to be strengthened, families and family groups are to receive assistance in caring for their children, and, whenever possible, families or family groups are to be helped to resolve the problems of children who need care or protection or have committed a criminal offense.
